Tom Alaimo's career began in the senior living industry in 2003, initially as an HR professional for Atria Senior Living. Soon after, Tom was selected to join the Quality Assurance team to conduct mock surveys and oversee compliance. In 2011, Tom's focus shifted to dementia care as the VP of Memory Care Operations. With permission from PK Beville and Second Wind Dreams, Tom designed, developed, and facilitated a “Virtual Dining Experience” for new Culinary Directors.
In 2017, Tom co-authored a dementia music program that earned the California Assisted Living Association’s “Elevate Award.” In 2018, Tom transitioned to Trilogy Health Services as their VP of Life Enrichment & Memory Care to help design and launch their BFF Memory Care Program. In 2022, Tom became an independent consultant, and it was then that he designed, developed, and founded LifeStory Connection™, an innovative software application to support a person-centered approach throughout healthcare. The application connects a person’s life story with their care partners and has been especially helpful in dementia care.
Dementia care is Tom's passion because it’s also personal. As an adult child, and alongside his six siblings, Tom experienced dementia from the family side with their mom's journey. Tom has been a licensed Administrator in Alabama since 2006, a Best Friends™ Master Trainer since 2012, and continues to serve the senior living industry.
