Bio: Amanda is a LNHA, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner Trainer with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. With more than 25 years of experience in long-term care and assisted living, Amanda has dedicated her career to improving the lives of older adults while educating and empowering the professionals who care for them. Throughout her career, Amanda has served in nearly every role within senior living including: STNA, Care Manager, Activities Assistant, Hostess, Laundry Aide, Housekeeper, Human Resource Director, Executive Director, Administrator, Marketing Director and Regional Director. This broad experience gives her a unique, practical perspective on the day-to-day challenges faced by caregivers, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams. For the past 20 years, Amanda has focused extensively on Alzheimer's Disease, and Dementia care. She develops and leads Dementia education programs for healthcare professionals, facilitates family education and support groups, and provides annual training on Dementia and Mental Illness for staff throughout her organization and beyond. As an educator at hears, Amanda is passionate about translating complex clinical concepts into practical, real-world strategies that caregivers and leaders can immediately implement. In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Amanda provides independent consulting, develops training programs for senior living organizations, and is a frequent presenter on Dementia care, staff education, leadership, and person-centered approaches to aging services. Her presentations are known for being engaging, relatable, and filled with actionable tools that inspire attendees to return to their communities with renewed confidence and purpose. Amanda believes that the best educators don't simply teach the information- they inspire people to care differently.
