According to the Ohio Administrative Code: Rule 3701-16-06, RCF leaders must ensure all staff members who provide personal care services have first-aid training within sixty days of hire. The training must be administered with a specific curriculum and have documentation of successful completion. 

OALA Associate Director, Melissa Shanmugam, RN, has all the details covered for your community! Schedule on-site training and we will come to your community to complete the training. Order a community-ready packet if an RN or LPN is available in your community to present the material.

  • Recognize time is a valuable tool
  • Recognize emergencies requiring first aid
  • Have the ability to make efficient and clear-headed responses - as trained
  • Provide basic first-aid training
  • Understand the concept of  CHECK, CALL, CARE
  • Be well prepared to Check, Call 911 when necessary, and provide basic Care related to basic first aid
