Veterans Benefits
A Veteran’s Administration Benefit, “Aid and Attendance,” exists for Veterans and their surviving spouses who served during wartime. The program provides a monthly payment that can be used to partially defray the cost of personal or custodial care at home or in a care facility. Any veteran who has served at least 90 days, with one day during a period of war, and has health needs that require some level of assistance (Home Health Care, Assisted Living, Nursing Home, etc.) may qualify for the pension. The surviving spouse of a veteran who meets the service requirements may also qualify. For more information, please contact your County Veteran’s Service Office.
A listing of each office with contact information can be found at: www.veteransaffairs.ohio.gov.
