Session: Food is Medicine
Bio: Krista is the Director of Nutrition at StoryPoint Group Senior Living, where she has spent the past six years advancing dining as a strategic driver of resident health, engagement, and quality of life. With more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical nutrition, community health, and program development, Krista brings a systems‑level, resident‑centered approach to senior living dining.
At StoryPoint Group, Krista has led innovative, enterprise‑wide initiatives that align culinary excellence with evidence‑based nutrition, including a Food Is Medicine philosophy, the Heart Icon menu enhancement grounded in the MIND diet, and now‑mandatory culinary nutrition training, as well as Powerful Puree & Elevated Modified Texture Diets for chefs. She is the recent recipient of the Senior Housing News DISHED Senior Living Dining Innovation Award 2026, and her work supports chronic disease prevention and management, cognitive health, and whole‑person wellness, while maintaining a strong focus on flavor, choice, personalized nutrition, and hospitality.
Krista partners closely with operations, culinary leadership, and community teams to develop resident‑centric menus, specialized dining experiences—including dementia‑supportive dining—and scalable nutrition standards and training. Her work focuses not only on what senior living dining is today, but also on where it must go next to meet increasing acuity, personalization, and wellness expectations, while preparing for the evolving food and nutrition needs over the next several years.
